Conservation Voters of South Carolina is a group that works toward the conservation and preservation of all that is naturally wonderful about our great state. They work tirelessly to educate not just our elected officials, but to educate our entire community. In addition to preserving South Carolina’s water and land resources, Conservation Voters of South Carolina also works to educate and advocate for clean energy. It takes an entire team of dedicated individuals to make all of this happen. That’s where the Green Tie Awards come in. For over a decade, Conservation Voters of South Carolina has been presenting the Green Tie Award to “honor the achievements of leaders who have protected our state’s natural heritage in the General Assembly and within their communities.”
2020 was, of course, a little bit different. Instead of being able to honor these community leaders with an in-person ceremony, Covid-19 created some unique challenges. And Conservation Voters of South Carolina called us in to help them honor and celebrate these amazing community leaders. Since getting together wasn’t a safe, viable option, we helped them come up with a strategy to ensure their Green Tie Award winners were still getting the recognition they deserve.
To highlight their work and dedication, we created videos showcasing each award recipient. After that, we helped devise a plan to livestream the award presentation event to the public. We set up and produced the livestream which helped create some semblance of normalcy for such a prestigious event. Although we are hoping for a return to normal soon, we also hope our community will continue to call on us to be their partner when we’re needed.
Congratulations to the 2020 Green Tie Award Recipients
