5 Videos You Need To Make Right Now

Another important video for you to create is an Educational video.  We don’t mean one where you stack PowerPoint slides together, put it to music, and hope for the best when people go to watch it.  We mean videos that have actual educational content that are useful to many people.  These don’t always have to be “how-to” videos.  You can include “did you know” videos and “here’s how we do xyz” videos and everything in between!  There is so much opportunity for sharing information, especially in video form, and it seems that people are looking to all types of individuals and companies to learn more about the world around them.  Don’t be afraid to give away everything – the more you give, the more people are willing to give back to you.  Just because you’re giving someone the knowledge to do what you do doesn’t mean they won’t want to hire you to do it even if they know how to do it.

Creating educational content for the public allows people to see you as an expert in your field, and it allows you to be more trustworthy as that expert.  Now, in the past, there was always the idea that if you teach someone to do what you do, they won’t need you as a company to do it for them.  But let’s remember that even though a lot of people know the basics of how to change the oil in their car, even if a mechanic puts out a step-by-step tutorial video on how to change the oil in each specific car that is commercially available, they’re still going to get business changing oil in cars.  Just because people have the knowledge to do the thing that your company does well doesn’t mean that those same people have the time to do what your company does well.  So don’t be afraid to teach people what you do and why you do it and how you do it.  Let your prospective clients in on the knowledge.  Let them know what you’re doing so they can trust you to do it well.
